Meet Jessica

Jessica has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Northeastern State University. Jessica is certified by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance in Neurofeedback under the supervision of Dr. Lindsey Nieman.

 

Jessica has worked in the neurofeedback field since 2018, and her prior experience includes working with clients at inpatient facilities monitoring those with various behavioral and cognitive disorders.

 

Jessica has a servant's heart and is dedicated to elevating the mind, body and soul of her clients for optimal peak performance.


Jessica and her boyfriend have an adventurous and highly active son. When she isn't engaging in her son's activities, she enjoys spending time grounding, weight training, lounging in her hammock, and listening to music.

  • How do I schedule an appointment?
    New clients can book an appointment by calling us at (918) 392-4008. If you are a current client, you may use your client portal to book your next appointment or call us at (918) 392-4008.
  • Do you accept insurance? How does insurance work?
    We have providers who are in network with BCBS, UHC/UMR, and Health Choice. We do not take Sooner Care/Medicaid, Medicare or Tricare, or any carriers associated with Medicare (like a Medicare replacement plan). To determine if you have mental health coverage, the first thing you should do is check with your insurance carrier. Check your coverage carefully and find the answers to the following questions: What are my mental health benefits? What is the coverage amount per therapy session? What is my deductible? And has it been met? How many therapy sessions does my plan cover? How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider? Is approval required from my primary care physician? Confirming insurance benefits before the first session is the responsibility of the client. You will need to provide your insurance card at check in before your first session. After the session, we will collect any applicable out of pocket expenses and bill your insurance company.
  • How do I cancel my appointment? What is your cancelation and no-show policy?
    The following information is provided in numerous documents in our paperwork. We understand that unexpected events can sometimes occur. We encourage you to contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your appointment. Cancelling your appointment in advance (outside 24 hours of your appointment time) allows us the opportunity to give the appointment slot to another client on our waiting list. Messages may be left on our answering machine after hours and on the weekends. Our Business Hours Monday: 8:00am – 8:00pm Tuesday: 8:00am – 8:00pm Wednesday: 8:00am – 7:00pm Thursday: 8:00am – 8:00pm Friday: 8:00am – 2:00pm Standard Cancellation Fee A flat, non-negotiable fee of $50 will be charged for all no-shows and late cancellations (cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment time) for ALL of our health services and ALL therapists except Dr. Nieman & Lindsey Nieman. Appointments canceled with Dr. Nieman or Lindsey Nieman within 24 hours will incur a $100 fee. The same $100 fee applies to no-show appointments with Dr. Nieman or Lindsey Nieman. Inclement Weather Policy If schools in the client's area are closed due to inclement weather, you may cancel your appointment without a fee. Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel due to weather.
  • How much does a therapy session cost?
    Cornerstone believes very strongly in making Christian-based therapy services available to anyone. We have several trained professionals with different levels of education and experience allowing us to offer a wide range of financial options. When you call our office we’ll share all the different options and work with you to find the best fit.
  • What if my session goes over time?
    Sometimes sessions may go over the allotted 50 minutes. You will be charged a quarter of your normal therapy fee for every 15 minutes (or part thereof), that you go over one hour.
  • Will I need to pay at the time of my session?
    Yes. All fees are to be paid at the time of service. If you are filing insurance, be prepared to pay for the first few sessions until we have received confirmation of payment from your insurance company. If you are receiving financial assistance from your church, be prepared to pay the full amount until you have submitted the financial assistance form signed by your church official.
  • Do we have to pay for extra people attending the session?
    No. Each session is charged based on the time, not how many people attend.
  • What will happen at my first session?
    You will have already completed the paperwork electronically via your client portal in therapy appointment. Your therapist will review this paperwork with you and give you information about how they approach therapy. The first session allows your therapist to learn more about your situation and your goals for therapy.
  • How can I get the most out of my therapy sessions?
    As a client, the most important thing you can do is work outside of therapy to accomplish the goals you have set in the therapy session. Most of our therapists will assign homework or some kind of activity to work toward before the next session. The more effort you put into these activities, the more you will get out of your therapy experience. Be open to challenging yourself and be willing to grow outside your comfort zone.
  • What if I don’t connect with my therapist?
    Not every therapist is a good fit for every person. If you find that you and your therapist aren’t connecting or working toward your goals, we will be happy to refer you to a new therapist either within our facility or to another professional that we believe can better meet your needs.
  • How long does a therapy session last? How long should I be in therapy?
    Each session is 50 minutes long. The number of total sessions will vary for each person and usually will depend on how much work a participant is willing to do outside of the therapy session. The therapist will work with you to determine approximately how many sessions you will need.
  • How is Cornerstone's Christian therapy approach different from non-Christian therapy?
    As Christian therapists, we strive to approach every person and situation with the love and acceptance of Christ. This does not mean that we accept and condone struggles or bad behavior, but we work toward a common goal of seeking Christ and his will for us while loving the person or entity that God has created. As a staff, we strive to show love and compassion to everyone who enters the door while striving to challenge, grow, and better each situation and life we encounter.
  • What is the difference between a psychiatrist and a therapist?
    A psychiatrist is a physician who focuses on the medical management of mental health symptoms, including the prescribing of medication. A therapist, on the other hand provides talk therapy to provide an additional way to manage mental health symptoms. Both providers have important contributions to make in the treatment of issues presented in the therapy setting.
  • How can a psychiatrist help me?
    Some problems or issues that individuals seek therapy for have a biological origin and require medication just like other conditions such as diabetes or high cholesterol. A psychiatrist can prescribe medication to help manage the biological symptoms. Medication is not a substitute for counseling or therapy; rather it is designed to work in conjunction with therapy to help reduce symptoms.
  • If I need medication does that mean I’m less of a Christian?
    Many Christians struggle with the question of whether taking medication for mental health conditions aligns with their faith. The good news is that medication management is a legitimate tool for treating biological symptoms, just like any other medical condition. Here's why taking medication for mental health doesn't diminish your faith: Just like physical ailments, mental health conditions can have biological roots. Medication helps to address these imbalances, restoring proper brain function and promoting emotional well-being. God created medicine as a gift for humanity. He desires our healing and wholeness, and utilizing medication aligns with his plan for our well-being. Taking care of your mental health is a form of self-care and stewardship. By addressing your mental health, you are better equipped to serve others and live a fulfilling life. Medication can be a powerful tool for spiritual growth. By alleviating debilitating symptoms, medication can create space for you to deepen your connection with God and engage in spiritual practices. Many faithful Christians utilize medication for mental health conditions. You are not alone in this journey, and seeking support from fellow believers can be a source of strength and encouragement. Remember: Medication is not a substitute for faith. It is a tool that can support your spiritual journey and enhance your overall well-being. Open communication with your doctor and spiritual leaders is crucial. They can help you make informed decisions and navigate the intersection of faith and mental health. God's love and compassion extend to all aspects of your life, including your mental health. He understands your struggles and desires your healing and wholeness. By embracing both faith and medication, you can find balance and experience the abundant life God has planned for you.
  • Will my therapist pray with me?
    Feel free to ask your therapist to pray with you if you’d like. We will never force or push this upon you. We try to meet each client where they are. Each therapist approaches this subject differently but they will always be open to discussing the importance of this with you at any time.
